Should NALCO go for group insuranace for mine workers?
Nalco has decided to launch group insurance scheme for its workers following resent attacks by naxals, some media reports quote. The havoc of the naxal attack has been affecting the production at the mines.
The safety of the workers is the prime object for the companies. As the insurance of the workers may helpful to motivate the workers to join the work. But the menace of the naxal attack will be there.
The safe measures should have given priority for the workers particularly working in the second shift or till night. Management may plan many measures to bring back the workers to the producing unit. Labour welfare measures may be taken by management in order to protect the interest of the workers in Orissa.
