Orissa to get Rs 140 crore under Integrated Coastal Zone Management project
The Orissa will get a fund of Rs 140 crore from the World Bank under the Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) project. The fund would be utilized to monitor and check any terrorists infiltrations thought coastal belt.
The World Bank has planned to fund Rs 140 crore for the implementation of ICZM project across 482 km of coastal area. Alongwith Orissa the other states - West Bengal and Gujarat are also the beneficiaries under this project. The Chilika Development Authority has been the nodal agency for preparing ICZM and the work will begin after getting complete approval from the World Bank.
The project will help the state to strengthen its security and can also monitor the climate change in the state. The people of the coastal areas of these state would be more relax to have this project. The climate change can also be monitored so that the damage would be less in future.
