Orissa Govt. plans two food parks in Gajapati and Ganjam

The state government is planning to set up two mega food parks to facilitate vegetable and fruit processing in south orissa. The state government has estimated an investment of Rs 200 for these two food parks.

The two district Ganjam and Gajapati are selected to set up the proposed food park. However, the clearance from the concerned department of central government is awaited. It is reported that the central government would share 50 per cent of the total investment.

The food parks - food processing units will be very useful for the state economy and the farmers. The proposed food parks will offer marketing avenues for different agricultural and horticultural products from the farmers after these products are scientifically processed.
