Orissa gets record development aid for projects

NABARD has provided aid of Rs 2,043 crore to Orissa during 2008-09, which is more than 68 per cent over the allocations made previous year, according media reports.

Disbursement of short-term loan to various banks has increased from Rs 625 crore during 2007-08 to Rs 1,258 crore during 2008-09. The State Cooperative Bank (OSCB) availed Rs 1,205 crore short-term loan registering 106 per cent growth.

Refinance was provided for capital formation in agriculture and allied sectors, non-farm sector activities and for investment in the services sector to commercial banks, RRBs and cooperative banks to the tune of Rs 411 crore.
