HC stays PG medical admissions

The Orissa High Court today stayed the counselling for the in-service PG admissions, according to media reports. The counselling was scheduled to be held on April 13. Justice MM Das hearing a writ petition over the existing norms, has stayed the counselling posting the case to April 20.

As per the existing norms, doctors who have three-year rural stint are given a 10 percent additional weightage on their entrance score. The existing norms are challenged in High Court by Dr Goutam Patnaik, Subhasis Mohapatra and others in separate writ petitions.
