JB Patnaik denies reports of his resignation

J B Patnaik has denied the news over his stepping down from the post of Congress Legislature Party leader. He termed the news over his resignation as rumours and mere speculations.

Patnaik the veteran Congress leader was chief minister for around 14 years.Patnaik said no senior leader has even persuaded him to resign from the post. Patnaik had meeting with AICC president Sonia Gandhi recently.

Focusing on the meeting, Patnaik said talks were held on strengthening the organisational set up and the party’s preparedness to face the coming election. Orissa sends 21 members to the Lok Sabha, the Congress party wants to be fighting fit ahead of the parliamentary polls, likely to be held in April-May this year.
