Orissa Govt sanctions 5,000 Houses for BPL People in Kandhamal

Breaking News! The Orissa government sanctioned 5,000 houses under the "Mo Kudia" (My Hut) scheme for the people living below poverty line (BPL) in Kandhamal. The Sub-Collector of Kandhamal has been asked to identify beneficiaries for the scheme. Each house will be built at a cost of Rs. 35,000. Other districts in the state are also asked to submit such demand reports.

The state government had launched the "Mo Kudia" scheme to compensate the poor people after the UPA government at the Centre, allegedly struck down 10 lakh families from the list of BPL. The government has made a provision of Rs. 100 crore in the budget to compensate the deprived poor families.
