Mob attack Police Station in Raikia (Kandhamal), One killed

Breaking News! Fresh violence erupted in Kandhamal. Hundreds of people including women attacked the police station in Raikia on Tuesday. They were demanding the release of arrested people in connection with the communal violence in Kandhamal. The police had to resort to blank firing to disperse the mob. However, one people was killed in the firing and 8 others injured. Over 25 policemen were also injured in the clashes.

The dead was identified as Bamdev Pradhan of Raikia. Another person identified as Nibedan Pradhan is in a critical condition and was shifted to Government Medical College in Berhampur. The CRPf has been rushed to the area to maintain law and order. Situation is tense, but under control in Raikia.
