Orissa Speaker Maheshwar Mohanty gets clean chit

In a significant development, Orissa Human Rights Commission (OHRC) gave a clean chit to former Orissa Assembly Speaker Maheshwar Mohanty in the sexual abuse case involving former lady marshal Gayatri Panda. OHRC Chairman Justice R K Patra cited lack of "credible evidence" while giving a clean chit to Mr. Maheshwar Mohanty. The case has been closed. Justice Patra said that allegations made by Gayatri Panda could not be established.
