J B Patnaik appointed Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit University, Tirupati

Former Orissa Chief Minister, veteran Congress leader, Eminent Writer and Leader of Opposition in the state assembly, Janaki Ballabh Patnaik has been appointed as the new Chancellor of the Rashtriya Sanskrit University, Tirupati. He was appointed by the Union HRD Ministry's Department of Higher Education.

Mr. J B Patnaik has been appointed as the Chancellor for a period of five years with effect from June 16 or from the date he assumes charge. It could be noted that Mr. Patnaik is the founder of the Sri Jagannath Sanskrit University, which is the third Sanskrit university in India. He has also written a number of books in Sanskrit and Oriya. Mr. J B Patnaik has won both Orissa Sahitya Akademi and Kendra Sahitya Akademi awards.
