Uproar in Orissa Assembly over Fuel Price Hike

The Orissa Assembly witnessed uproarious scenes over petrol and diesel price hike. While the ruling BJD demanded a censure motion against the UPA government at the Centre, BJP, CPI and CPI(M) too protested against the price hike and demanded it to be discussed in the house. The opposition parties that looked united against the ruling BJD-BJP government on Thursday, were disintegrated on the fuel price hike issue.

The assemby was adjourned for 30 minutes on Friday. BJD-BJP combine and the Congress attacked each other and stormed the well of the house. CPI (M) members staged a demonstration near PMG Square against the increase in oil price.
