Rakesh Nayak - The Martyr from Orissa

Rakesh Nayak (26) of Puri was one of the five martyrs, who were killed of a poisonous gas leak on INS Jalashwa. Rakesh, trained at INS Chilika, was a mechanic with INS Jalashwa. He was killed while trying to help his colleagues hit by a poisonous gas leak in the warship.

Hundreds of people flocked to his home to pay their last homage to the martyr. He was cremated at the Swarg Dwar cremation ground in Puri after a guard of honour by INS Chilika.
