Over 2000 Rural Doctors threaten to resign
More than 2000 doctors working in the rural areas of the state, have threatened to resign if their demands are not met by February 18, 2008. They are demanding higher salary, better working conditions and sophisticated infrastructure. The ultimatum was issued to the government by Orissa Medical Services Association (OMSA) on Wednesday.OMSA has already started collecting resignation letters from the rural doctors and more than 2000 letters have been collected so far. The resignation letters have given one month notice to the government. That means, the doctors will not be reporting on duties from March 19, 2008.
