Orissa Govt. rejects demand for CBI Probe into Health Scam

The entire opposition staged a walkout in the Orissa Assemby, as the government rejected their demand for a CBI probe into the multi-crore scam in the World Bank-funded Orissa Health System Development Project. The house was adjourned thrice amid pandemonium. The government maintained that since vigilance probe is going on, a CBI probe at this juncture is not necessary.

Health Minister Sanatan Bisi rejected the opposition demand for a CBI probe and assured the house that state vigilance department is conducting the probe in an impartial manner. Since the opposition is not in a mood to relent, the Assembly may witness the same drama on Friday too.
