Four People arrested in Kidnapping Case
The Orissa police have arrested four persons in connection with the sensational kidnapping of businessman Rashmiranjan Mohapatra from Keonjhar. The kidnappers allegedly acted on the orders of gangster Shiekh Hyder, who is currently lodged in Bolangir jail. Rashmi was kidnapped from Bhubaneswar in May 2007. His family members are said to have several installments of ransom money to the kidnappers for his release, but in vain. When his family members failed to seek his release, they approached the police. The Bolangir and Kendrapara police conducted a joint operation to nab the culprits. The arrested kidnappers included a lawyer Ganapati Ray, Sheikh Churia (Hyder's son) and his associates Jajati Biswal and Gayatri Biswal. While Ganapati was arrested from Bolangir, the others were arrested from Kendrapara.
Rashmiranjan is still untraceable. The police are interrogating the accused to find a clue on the whereabouts of the abducted businessman.
