The Budget Session starts with Opposition Boycott

The budget session of the Orissa legislative assembly began with a boycott by opposition parties led by the Congress. They staged a walkout immediately after Governor M. C. Bhandare started reading his speech. The governor highlighted the government's achievements.

The opposition returned to the house once the governor's speech was over. The budget session is likely to be stormy, as the opposition is planning to target the government on issues like "Health Scam", "Farmers' Suicide" and "Law and Order in the state".
