Breaking News! HIV+ Persons to get Pension in Orissa

Breaking News! The Orissa government has decided to offer a pension worth Rs. 200 per month to the HIV+ persons in the state for life. The pension scheme will be covered under 'Madhu Babu Pension Yojana'. The scheme will take effect from this month.

The government move has brought smile to the faces of HIV patients who have been dumped by the society and are living under neglect and apathy. Orissa became the first state in the country to provide such benefits to the HIV patients. Currently, there are 6,132 HIV+ persons in the state.
