Top 10 Engineering Colleges in Orissa

This article was written more than six months ago. The article had listed 10 Engineering Colleges in the state, but their listing is no longer relevant on today's date. To set the record straight, Orissa News Online has come up with another updated listing. Please visit the following link to read "The Top 20 Engineering Colleges in Orissa".

http://www.orissatimes.net/2008/06/top-20-engineering-colleges-in-orissa_29.html

We appreciate the feedback from our readers, students of the state and some eminent professors who helped us to undo our previous mistake and come up with the new article, which we believe is correct in the current scenario.

i m not a engineering student....m a hrm manager from infosys, mumbai....the problem with kiit is the quality of students and teachers....kiit has very good infrastructure but sadly thats where it ends :)
i wish and hope that they stop milking management seats and create false merit lists during exams (industry sources)

nitrkl has very good students but they lack basic communication skills, but it can be worked upon

currently silicon is attracting very good publicity coz of its students and teachers.they have small staff and a comparitively small number of students but the quality of education that they are imparting is really ncie.

ITER is alaso a very good college but the recent news says that since it has become a deemed university its trying to ape kiit and going down under.i hope they learn from kiit's mistakes

(keep in mind that am not an ex-alumni of any college in orissa and all of what i siad was form a recruiters point of view and lastly one piece of advice to students..dont go by recruiters demand in a non-govt colg..coz the recruiters can be paid for :) )

the ranking was done by seeing the beter result of college and infrastructure as well as on campus.
but from my view kec should be rank before oec .as it secure better mark than oec as well as campus.

dont compare OEC with anyother colge like KEC...bcoz OEC is the 1st n oldest engg. colge in orissa..it has very good reputation not only in orissa but also outside the orissa also..maximum no. of students of oec are outside in india n in good reputed MNCS...

I pity the eyesight of the guys who desperately commented on the rankings of the colleges. It is clearly written in the article that the listing was done randomly, not as per their rankings. A website or blog cannot rank the colleges on its own. Before you comment, make sure to read the article first.

The given ranking is totally wrong and misguiding.
It shows that the person has no idea about engg colleges.
How can one forget SILICON and NIST-the two best colleges.
They have the no.1 and no.2 positions(among private colleges) indeed.(Under BPUT)
The correct ranking may be as follows......
1.NIT,Rkl

//Govt. colleges
2.CET
3.BURLA

//Own Universities
4.ITER
5.KIIT

//Under BPUT
6.SILICON
7.NIST
8.CVR
9.GITA
10.OEC

1.silicon
