Orissa Govt orders Vigilance Probe into Health Project Scam
The state government has ordered a vigilance probe into the alleged bribe paid to a former health minister of the state and some officials in a World Bank aided project. The government has also asked the World Bank to provide specific names of the people involved in the scam. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that action would be taken against those found guilty.The issue came out in open, as the World Bank named a former Orissa Health Minister for allegedly taking bribe in its report on Orissa Health System Development Project. According to the report, the former minister and other officials accepted Rs 5 lakh and Rs 25 lakh respectively from a firm.
