Orissa bans poultry imports from West Bengal

The Orissa government has sealed its borders with West Bengal and banned the import of poultry products from that state in the wake of outbreak of Bird Flu there. Prohibitory orders were clamped in at least 72 villages in Balasore district and several villages in Mayurbhanj districts.

More than half of West Bengal are affected by Bird Flu. The government move followed by the seizure of trucks loaded with eggs and poultry birds on Orissa - West Bengal border while they were coming from West Bengal.
