Opposition leaders visit Kandhamal

After the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik lifted the restrictions on politicians' visit to Kandhamal, senior leaders of six political parties visited riot-hit Kandhamal district to take stock of the situation. They are on a two-day visit to the district. Earlier, the CM urged the visiting politicians to make sure that peace in the area is not disturbed.

The leaders who are on a visit to Kandhamal include Jayadeb Jena, Srikanta Jena and Narasingha Mishra (Congress), Amar Satpathy and Utkal Parida (NCP), Dibakar Nayak (CPI), Janardan Pati and Jagannath Mishra (CPI - M), Sudam Marandi (JMM), and Harish Mohapatra (RJD). They would first visit Khajuripada and Phulbani areas on Saturday. Phiringia, Daringibadi and Brahmanigaon areas will be on their itinerary on Sunday.
