Orissa to observe 2008 as Year of Irrigation

Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced a Rs. 2,000 crore mega package for the farmers. He assured the farmers of the state sufficient water for agricultural purpose. The CM declared 2008 as the "Year of Irrigation". "Water to all agricultural field will be our top priority during 2008," Naveen Patnaik told the reporters.
