Jail Security in the State tightened, Fleeing Naxals enter Orissa

The Dantewada jailbreak by the Maoists has put the State Government on high alert. Police officials in bordering areas of Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur areas have been informed to remain vigilant to face any untoward incidents. Security in all jails across the state has been tightened.

It could be recalled that in a daring jailbreak, at least 299 prisoners including 110 Maoists had escaped from Dantewada Jail on December 16. According to media and intelligence reports, the fleeing Naxals have entered the areas bordering Motu, Chitrakonda, Padia, Malkangiri and Koraput. The security personnel have launched a massive manhunt to nab the Maoists if they have entered into the state territories.
