Adulteration of Oil, Ghee and Rice reported in Sambalpur

According to reports, adulterated mustard oil, ghee, rice and pulses worth Rs 50 lakh have been seized from a godown in Khetrajpur, Sambalpur. The godown belongs to a businessman Sitaram Agrawal. However, the police is tightlipped about the seizure.

The businessman is said to have mixed synthetic white substance to Banaspati and some other substances to mustard oil. Sitaram Agrawal and his sons Subhash, Sunil and Sanjay and the godown owner Bijay Trivedi have been arrested by the police. The latest development has raised public outcry in Sambalpur and other adjacent areas.
