Rama Devi students complain of Leering Guys

The 'power babes' of Rama Devi (RD) Women's College, Bhubaneswar no longer feel themselves safe and secure. They are scared of the leering romeos who often sneak into their hostels. The modern-era girls rule the town, they make the guys grovel at their feet, be it in studies or extra-curricular activities and proved beyond doubt that they are the boss when it comes to a competition between them and their male counterparts.

The RD girls have the power, strength and ability to punish the road romeos, when confronted face-to-face. However, they are helpless when the anti-social elements attack them from behind. It is the responsibility of the college and hostel administration to provide foolproof security to the girl students. But that hardly happens.

The agitated girls gheraoed the college Principal for hours and demanded round-the-clock security in the college and hostels. The students boycotted classes, locked the college gates and sat on a dharna. They demanded that their demands be met immediately. They even threatened that their strike would continue indefinitely if the authorities do not pay heed to their demands.
