Orissa Assembly adjourned again

The deadlock inside the Orissa Assembly continued, as the house was adjourned for the second consecutive day. The speaker could not transact any business as opposition members stormed the well demanding a debate on lathicharge on farmers and teachers.

The opposition demanded a discussion under rule 113-b that has a provision for voting. However, the government seems in no mood to hold a debate that requires voting. As both sides stuck to their demand, the scene became ugly inside the house and the Speaker had no option but to adjourn the proceedings.
