KIIT enters 'Limca Book of Records' (TOI Report)
According to Times of India newspaper, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University has entered the Limca Book of Records-2007 in four categories. The University is the first to get the varsity status in the shortest possible time. It figures in the Limca Book of Records as the only institute in the country that offers technical education from ITI to Ph D level.The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), a sister concern of KIIT, has entered the Record Book as the only residential school for tribal children from kindergarten to Class XII in the country. KIIT achived another milestone when its chancellor Dr Achyut Samanta has entered the record book as the youngest person in the country to hold the top post. He was appointed Chancellor of the KIIT at the age of 39 in 2004.
