Cyclonic Storm unlikely to cause damage in Orissa

The much-talked Cyclonic Storm that created a panic in Orissa, is unlikely to hit Orissa, as it is moving in a northern direction. In all probability, the storm is likely to cross West Bengal-Bangladesh coast on Friday. Although it may not cause heavy damage in the state, the coastal districts may still experience heavy rains and winds with 50-60 km speed per hour.

Indian Meteorological Department's latest report brought huge relief to the people of Orissa, as people were praying to god to rescue them from the danger. The state government has decided not to take any chances and alerted the district administration in coastal areas to be prepared to face any eventuality. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik held a high level meeting with Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Manmohan Samal and other top officials to take stock of the situation.
