Bali Yatra kicks off in Cuttack

The historic Bali Yatra began amid fanfare and celebration in Cuttack yesterday. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the historic and the biggest trade fair of the State. The eight-day fair was scheduled to be concluded on December 1. However, the government has decided to extend it by a day, bowing to the public demand.

The Chief Minister urged the people to work unitedly towards the development and progress of the state. He assured the people that government would take all necessary steps to tap the natural resources and the potential in Orissa and create opportunities for the people. He also emphasized on education and self-employment generation.

Besides the CM, Revenue Minister Manmohan Samal, Higher Education Minister Samir Dey, Tourism Minister Debi Prasad Mishra, Panchayati Raj Minister Raghunath Mohanty, Cuttack MP Bhatruhari Mahtab, Mayor Nibedita Pradhan, Deputy Mayor Madhusudan Sahoo and Collector Sujata Rout Karthikeyan spoke on the occasion.
