Heavy rain Lashes Orissa again

There is no respite for people of Orissa from rain. The latest low pressure formation over the Bay of Bengal resulted in heavy rain in Orissa. The state has already seen ten low pressure areas off its coast since June 2007. Heavy rain claimed at least 22 lives in the neighboring Andhra Pradesh, while it brought the life in Orissa into a standstill. There have been reports of water logging in many areas of Cuttack City.

According to the Meteorological Department, the rain will continue for 2/3 days because of the cyclonic depression. Six matches of the Kalahandi Cup cricket, which was scheduled to begin today, have been cancelled due to heavy rain and bad weather.
