Capital Hospital Staff protest Assault on Nurse

Days after the SCB Medical College staff going on an indefinite strike to protest against the assault on the doctors and nurses by the attendants of the patients, the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar too witnessed similar scene. The work at the Capital Hospital was paralysed for six hours, as the doctors and the staff sat on a dharna. They protested against the assault on a nurse by the relatives of dead patient.

After the death of a female patient, her relatives went on a rampage and ransacked the female medicine ward. They also attacked the nurse on duty, injuring her seriously. The employees demanded immediate arrest of the miscreants involved in the incident and full-proof security for the staff. The strike was called off after the government assured to post policemen at the hospital to prevent any such incident in future.
